Welcome to Financial Success 101
Our intention is to help you learn how money is made and control how you spend it. By showing you how life really is we hope you will develop good spending habits that will last you a lifetime.
This course is designed to represent five years after you graduate. You will be required to complete an encounter each day, five days a week for 14 weeks. The time required is minimal but we suggest that you take the time to visit the links to outside sources to learn as much as possible about new subjects.
We have tried to make each encounter as close to real life as possible. You will fill in a few questions about yourself and then be sent out into the world. The more you put into this course, and the more honest you are, the more you will learn and grow. The point is not to see who can come out richer, but who can control their spending and be able to retire.
1) Each day you log on will be equal to a month of your life. You will be given a few items to start "living" on your own by your parents. An old car, a modest apartment with furnishings and a small checking account. Your job will provide your income. You will have bills to pay and expenses show up unexpectedly. You will have to budget your income so as not to have the lights cut off or your phone disconnected. Not all of this is going to be fun or easy. The more you learn from your mistakes here, the less you will have to learn with your hard earned cash in the future.
